2 Timothy 2:1-13
Corporate Worship Service
Our corporate worship service will be on Sunday morning at 11am - both in person, and online. For those joining us in person, you can read about the precautions that we are taking, and also watch the service live or later at your convenience via our website - www.jrccsuffolk.org.
All Other Physical Meetings Cancelled
In an effort to limit our physical contact, all other physical meetings and services (Small Groups, Sunday School) remain canceled until further notice. We will resume them as soon as it is safe to do so. We recently added Children's Church for ages 4-7 during the regular service with safety measures in place. For more information on Small Groups meeting via Zoom, visit the Small Groups Page on our website.
Wednesday Evening Online Prayer Meeting
Each Wednesday evening at 8pm we connect online with one another and pray together. The link to join us is at www.jrccsuffolk.org.
Member Meeting - September 6, 2020
Our regularly scheduled member meetings are the first Sunday of each month. Save the date for the September meeting! Instructions to participate and the agenda will be posted the week prior to the meeting.
CAPS Fundraiser - Barbecue and Fried Chicken - September 20, 2020
Please support the only fundraiser of the year for the Coalition Against Poverty in Suffolk (CAPS) by purchasing $12.00 tickets for a huge barbecue and fried chicken dinner. Meals are pick-up only at Westminster Church on Godwin Boulevard in Suffolk from 11am - 2 pm. Tickets may be purchased online at https://www.capsuffolk.org/product/bbq-plate.
Ebenezer UMC Food Bank
JRCC is collecting non-perishable items for the food bank at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. A container will be available on Sundays for collecting donations. Since children are out of school, kid-friendly items are appreciated.
ForKids School Supply Drive
Thank you to those who donated to the ForKids school supply drive. The ForKids staff was very grateful for your generosity! The school supplies are coming in very slowly so your donations were very encouraging.
Chip and Meredith Jones (Serge Global, Chile)
During this time of quarantine, Chip and Meredith have had multiple opportunities to serve the poor and marginalized in their community by meeting their physical needs (i.e., food, clothing, firewood). They have also been making wood fueled stoves for those in need who can’t afford propane during this difficult time. The church in Chile is distancing itself from the poor and marginalized so sin is growing. Please pray that the Gospel message would sink deeper into churches so they would welcome and care for the broken. Also, pray for protection of the Jones family as armed robbery has been on the rise in their neighborhood.
