Reflection Questions
To help you reflect on last week's sermon, and/or discuss it in community with others.

Farewell to Jose and Diana Gonzalez
This Sunday, we will bid a fond farewell to Jose and Diana Gonzalez!  Jose is stepping down from eldership, and they are resigning their membership at JRCC to join with a local church in Cape Charles where they live.  Jose will preach one final sermon, and then we will celebrate their departure with snacks after the service!

Missions Team Meeting
February 21

We meet on the third Monday of each month via Zoom to discuss how the members of JRCC can be equipped to share the gospel as well as support missionaries around the world.  Anyone with an interest can join us here:

Ladies Fellowship Dinner
February 26

Women of JRCC!  Come join us for a time of fellowship and conversation.  Dinner will be provided!  We want you there!  Contact Gina McKeehan or Brittany Page with any questions.

Men of JRCC!  We have an opportunity to serve the women of our church by preparing dinner for them.  We need your help to make it happen!  Please contact Tim Bowden if you are able to help.

Crisis Pregnancy Center Baby Bottle Campaign
Pray for the Crisis Pregnancy Center, and for unborn children, and for expectant mothers.  Fill your baby bottle with donations, and bring it back to JRCC on February 27!

Opportunity to Provide Meals for Neighbors Experiencing Homelessness
The Suffolk Christian Fellowship Center is organizing meals for people experiencing homelessness in Suffolk.  JRCC has committed to providing meals for the week of February 28 - March 6.  And we all have the opportunity to support the effort and make it happen!  You can find more information and sign up to serve here.  If you have any questions, please contact Tim Bowden or Natasha Scully.

We need people to help with preparing snacks to enjoy after our corporate worship services, and cleaning up afterward.  If you'd like to volunteer, you can sign up here.

Missionary Update

Street Evangelism Ministry
Over the Christmas season, Chris Jones and other evangelists visited several parades and gatherings in the Hampton Roads area.  Nearly 5,000 gospel tracts were distributed at these events.  Both Jason and Chris continue to engage men and women outside of the abortion clinics when they can, and Jason is working on completing an evangelistic booklet with the working title, 'What You Probably Already Know About God'.  Please contact Jason Sleichter or Chris Jones if you'd like to be involved in our street evangelism ministry.

Thurston Benns
You can see a recent ministry update from Thurston here.  Please be in prayer for:

  • Students seeking friends, fighting isolation, and wrestling with questions of “what’s next?”
  • His continued fundraising efforts.
  • Staff who are feeling pulled in so many directions as they try to adjust their strategies and expectations to the realities of life and ministry entering the third year of the pandemic.
