Oh Worship the King
I Hear the Words of Love
Dear Refuge of My Weary Soul
See the Destined Day Arise
Speak, Oh Lord
Power of the Cross

Church Work Day - Postponed to March
Our church workday will not be held this Saturday like originally planned.  It has been postponed to March.  Details will be communicated soon.  In the meantime, contact Jeff Daniels with any questions.

Support the CAPS Night Stay Program
The Coalition Against Poverty in Suffolk is organizing the Night Stay Program this winter - mobilizing local churches and organizations to open their doors for people who are in crisis, whether facing eviction or homelessness.  We have an opportunity to support them through volunteering, preparing food, etc.  If you are able to help, please sign up, or contact the organizer for the week that you are available.

  • January 19-26
  • January 26 - February 2
  • February 2-9
    • CAPS has been approached by an organization in downtown Suffolk that is willing to open their doors to the Night Stay program.  They will need help in staffing it for that week.
    • Contact Connie Schubert (, 757-286-9126).

National Sanctity of Human Life Day
January 30

We were originally planning to celebrate Sanctity of Human Life Day on January 23, but it has been rescheduled to January 30.  We will begin a Baby Bottle Campaign to support the Crisis Pregnancy Center.  CPC strives to save lives, spare hearts, and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.  If you'd like to participate, you can:

  • Take a bottle home for a month and fill it with donations.
  • Use the bottle as a reminder to pray for the CPC, and unborn children, and expectant mothers.
  • Return the bottle February 27th.

Also - CPC is looking for Patient Advocates to help meet with women, listen to them, work through their fears, and help support them so that they can choose life with confidence.  You can hear more about it here.

Ladies Fellowship Dinner
January 29

Women of JRCC!  Come join us for a time of fellowship and conversation.  Dinner will be provided!  We want you there!  Contact Gina McKeehan or Brittany Page with any questions.

Men of JRCC!  We have an opportunity to serve the women of our church by preparing dinner for them.  We need your help to make it happen!  Please contact Tim Bowden if you are able to help.

Peninsula Community Chapel Women's Conference
January 28-29

Peninsula Community Chapel will be having their women’s conference on Friday, January 28 (6:30-9:30pm) and Saturday, January 29 (9am-4:30pm). The theme of the weekend is “The Art of Waiting Well in a Hurried World,” focusing on the life of Abraham and featuring guest speaker Shar Walker.  The cost is $35, which includes lunch on Saturday and materials for the weekend.  You can register here.

NOTE:  This conference is the same day as the JRCC Ladies Fellowship Dinner, but we will be back in time!  If you are interested in carpooling, contact Lindsey Williams (757-268-1753).

Annual Contribution Statements
The church office will be issuing 2021 Financial Contribution Statements via email by the end of January.  When you receive your statement, please review it and verify that it matches your personal giving records.  If there are any discrepancies, please let us know.  If your email has changed recently, please let us know.  Statements for donors without email will be made available at the church at the end of January.

We need people to help with preparing snacks to enjoy after our corporate worship services, and cleaning up afterward.  If you'd like to volunteer, you can sign up here.
