Paul articulates that “there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ”.  (8:1)  Why is this significant?  What has Paul communicated thus far (in Romans 1-7) that would cause us to be surprised by a statement like this?  What has he communicated that would cause us to expect a statement like this?

What is the law of the Spirit of life?  What is the law of sin and death?  (8:2)  How have we, as Christians, been set free from the latter?

Paul says that “God did what the the law could not do”.  (8:3)  What does this mean?  What is it about our salvation that we were unable to do, and that we needed God to do for us?

What does it mean that Jesus was sent "in the likeness of sinful flesh”?  (8:3)  How could this be true if Jesus was sinless?  (Hebrews 4:15)

What does it mean that Jesus “condemned sin in the flesh”?  (8:3)  What does it mean that Jesus “fulfilled the righteous requirement of the law”?  (8:4)  Why are both of these important aspects of what Christ has done for us?

What does it mean to walk (live) to according to the Spirit?  (8:4-5)  What does it look like for us to strive to do this today?

What does it mean to “set our minds on the things of the Spirit”?  What are some practical ways that we can be doing this today?
