This Sunday, we step out of the gospel of Luke for a few weeks, and into an Old Testament series for the Advent season entitled “Christ is Coming”.

During the month of December, we will take a look at several different Old Testament texts that anticipate the Messiah – God’s Savior for God’s people. Specifically, we will look at:

  • Genesis 3 – Eve’s Descendent
  • Deuteronomy 18 – Moses’s Prophet
  • 2 Samuel 7 – David’s King
  • Isaiah 53 – Isaiah’s Servant

This Sunday, in Genesis 3, we will look at how God promised His people a savior immediately after they sinned and fell for the very first time. A son of a woman, who would oppose Satan on humanity’s behalf, and who would absorb a painful blow from Satan, while ultimately delivering a fatal blow to Satan.

A prophecy that would eventually be fulfilled in Christ – a virgin-born, heaven-sent, Savior, who would die an awful death on the cross, while securing a glorious salvation for His people.

See you Sunday!
