Last week (February 12) was the last week in our first leg of our journey through Luke (Luke 1-4). We have seen the prophecies and events surrounding Jesus’s birth, His childhood, and His preparation for public ministry.

We’ll pick up in the book of Luke again later this year. As we progress through it, we will see:

  • Jesus’s public ministry in Galilee (Luke 4-9)
  • Jesus’s journey to Jerusalem (Luke 9-19)
  • Jesus’s ministry in Jerusalem (Luke 19-21)
  • Jesus’s suffering and death (Luke 22-23)
  • Jesus’s resurrection (Luke 24)

However, in an attempt to break it up, and keep things fresh, we will begin a new sermon series this week (February 19). An 8 week journey through the book of Joel.

Joel is a tiny little book (3 chapters) tucked away at the end of the Old Testament, in a section referred to as the minor prophets. (Minor, because they are shorter – not because they are lesser or less important!)

Over the next two months, into and throughout the season of Lent, we will listen to what the book of Joel tells us about God’s sovereignty, and about suffering, and about repentance, and about salvation.

Join us on Sunday for our first passage from the book of Joel – Joel 1:1-12.

See you then!
