This Sunday, we will hear from Luke 15:1-10. The religious leaders see Jesus spending time with sinners, and they begin to grumble.

Jesus responds by telling two stories – one about a shepherd who loses a sheep, and one about a woman who loses a coin. In both cases, they drop everything and initiate a search, until they find their prized possession. And when they do, they rejoice and celebrate. Jesus says that this is the heart of God. He loves sinners. And he loves when they repent and come home.

Together, we will consider the kind, merciful, generous, loving, gracious heart of God. And we will consider how we can respond, by acknowledging our sin, and repenting of it.
