Last week, we began our journey through the book of 1 Timothy. This Sunday, we will hear from 1 Timothy 1:3-11.

In it, Paul reiterates why he sent Timothy to pastor the church in Ephesus. To defend the gospel against the various false teachers that are threatening it. And to use the gospel as God intended – to proclaim it faithfully and lovingly to sinners, in the hopes that they will repent and trust in Christ.

We’ll consider what it looks like for us, as God’s people, to contend for the truth of the gospel in a world that stands against it. And what it looks like for us to relate to the world with grace, and love, and compassion.
