Last Sunday we began our sermon series on the life of David, working through 1 and 2 Samuel. We took a brief survey through the first 16 chapters, meeting our main characters – Samuel, and Saul, and David.

This Sunday, we will turn our attention to David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17. A story that many of us are familiar with. And yet, it is a story that we might have become so familiar with, that we run the risk of missing how it displays God’s glory in the gospel.

Join us as we hear this story. Hopefully, with fresh eyes – as if for the first time. We will see God’s people stared down by an enemy that they cannot defeat. And then God’s anointed shepherd king steps in, and does battle with him their behalf. And then invites them into his victory over their enemies.

See you Sunday.
