This Sunday, we will continue our journey through the book of Isaiah, looking at chapters 40-48. These chapters mark a significant shift in the book. Unlike chapters 1-39 (which were characterized by rebukes, and warnings of coming judgment), chapters 40-66 speak to the hope of God’s grace, that is coming after the exile, in the new creation, through God’s promised Messiah. In our passage this week, we will see God’s words of comfort, spoken to his people in exile, to assure them that his gracious promises will be fulfilled.
