How does 17:1-4 describe the responsibility of the Christian as it pertains to temptation and sin in the lives of those around us?

Why do you think that Jesus uses such strong, shocking language in 17:2? What is so significant about this particular sin (causing one of these little ones to sin) that it warrants such intense judgment?

How does your soul react when you read 17:4? Does it seem outlandish, or excessive? Does it feel impossible to obey? Why or why not?

Why do you think that the apostles ask Jesus to increase their faith (17:5)? Why do you think that Jesus responds the way that he does in 17:6?
