How does John the Baptist define repentance? What is significant about the language he uses - to “bear the fruit of repentance”?

Why did John’s audience boast that that Abraham was their father? What are some ways the we can embody this same spirit today? How can we avoid this error?

We see John’s answers for the masses, and for tax collectors, and for soldiers. What do you think John’s answer would be to you, for what repentance looks like for you personally?

 

In Luke 3:7-14, we see John’s message. And in Luke 3:16-17, we see a brief glimpse into his heart - into why he is preaching. Why is John so passionate about his message - so much so that he is willing to be imprisoned and ultimately killed for it?
